  19. I have installed the RPM version C-Kermit 7.0.196 (d/l from
  20. www.columbia.edu/kermit) onto my linux-mandrake box.

  22. I am trying to page a numeric pager and am using the numpage script from
  23. the C-Kermit Scripts library.

  25. All goes well, except for the fact that my external USR sportster 56K
  26. modem does not hangup the line after the call. The modem type is set to
  27. usr.

  29. Switching debug on, everything looks OK to me.

  31. Checking the FAQ, I find Q13 - Why Doesn't the HANGUP Command Work for
  32. Me?

  34. So, I have double checked the DIP switches on the modem and DTR is set
  35. to normal.

  37. During debug mode I see the AT commands as they are being sent to the
  38. modem and do not see '&D2'.

  40. I then tried to use output{} to send the &D2, but get an error saying
  41. the port is not yet open - I placed this just above pdial, which is
  42. perhaps the prblem here.

  44. I then tried to reset the init string using a set command, but this
  45. seemed to be ignored.

  47. What is the easiest way in which to add AT commands to the modem init
  48. string ?
